About our church family December 1, 2009

Cahaba Valley Church is a community of seekers.  We are parents, grandparents, children and grandchildren. We are married, divorced and single.  We are retired, students, businesspeople, artists, educators, doctors and unemployed.

We are just scraping by, and we are wealthy.  We are black, white and colors in between.   We are Democrats, Republicans and Independents.  We are healthy and we are sick.

We are hopeful and disheartened. We are new Christians, learning-to-be Christians and lifelong Christians.

We are pilgrims rather than pundits.  We don’t have all of the answers, but we welcome the chance to journey with you in your spiritual quest.

We do our best to “welcome one another the way Jesus Christ has welcomed us.”  We believe God’s grace sets us free from fear and helps us break down the walls between us. And so we celebrate the surprising ways that God can create relationships between people who might never expect to know each other.

We believe we are called to be peacemakers through relationships with people in service to Jesus. We believe that Jesus seeks to bring all people together with him in relationships of faith and love, across the whole world.
